Ibiza is a very sexy and romantic island. The sunsets are stunning and the beaches are beautiful. Many holiday makers have met here and fallen in love. As a result, the island has fast become a place where marriage proposals are made and wedding vows are taken.
Here is a list of my favorite places on the island for that special dinner with a loved one.
Bar 1805 Ibiza (Bistro)
A french/ibizan quarter romantic setting.
One of my favourite restaurants on Ibiza, for the atmosphere in a quiet little area of Sa Penya, with the lit-up cathedral as your back drop. They are famous for their Moules et frites which are mussles in a pot with a side order of French fries.
Owner Charles is a champion mixologist and his cocktails are superb – house speciality is an absinthe cocktail known as “The Green Beast”.
A picturesque and romantic old town setting.
I love this Provencal family -run restaurant in Dalt Vila. The tables are set out on the narrow cobbled street, and their food is consistantly good every year. The goats cheese starter is heavenly by the way.
The Fish Shack
A perfect rustic romantic seaside setting.
Past Sa Punta restaurant in Talamanca bay…keep going…and there it is. They serve the simplest dishes here. The fish is freshly caught that morning and the lamb chops are incredible, all served with a potato and tomato salad. Desserts and coffee are all local . You can’t book in advance unless you physically go there and reserve, which is classic old-school Ibiza! The view over the sea is unbeatable..
Romance with the stunning Es Vedra as your backdrop.
This is the perfect place for a romantic dinner. Try to get a table by the windows so you can gaze at Es Vedra with your loved one. They specialize in seafood here so you must try the red prawns as a starter. But they are also famous for their Paellas. Book in advance as it is always busy.
Turn right before you get down to the beach and drive a bit until you see a stone marking a dirt track on the left.
Experimental Beach. The Beach Chic Romance.
The chic bohemian terrace overlooking the sea and sunset is simply a-mazing and a perfect dining spot for you and your love. The restaurant serves quality French-based cuisine and great cocktails.
Ses Eufabiés. The simply romantic setting
Built in the fifties when there was nothing but sea and sand, I love the rustic this place has maintained.
The angler fish and the grilled sardines are wonderful.
Try and reserve the little table outside on the edge of the rock, which they always set with a candle. So romantic!
Los Enamorados. A true romance.
Perched on the rocks of a gorgeous little unspoilt cove in the north sits this stunning Bazaar Hotel and Restaurant. Stylish all the way and bursting with good taste.
Here you can experience a true Ibiza setting.
It is one of the most romantic spots in Ibiza …thus the name and you won’t ever want to leave.
